Hitachi Asia Appoints Kazunori Sudo as General Director of Hitachi Asia (Vietnam) Co., Ltd.<\/strong><\/h6>\n

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, March 9, 2017<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Hitachi Asia Ltd. today announced the appointment of Mr. Kazunori Sudo as General Director of Hitachi Asia (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. with responsibility to grow the operations and to expand Hitachi\u2019s Social Innovation Business in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sudo will succeed Mr. Akihito Ando who is assuming the role of General Director, Hitachi Elevator Vietnam Co., Ltd. Mr. Ando will continue to support Hitachi Asia (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. as Executive Advisor.<\/p>\n

Both appointments will be effective April 1, 2017.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sudo most recently served as General Director of Hitachi Plant Technologies (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. and has been proactively expanding business opportunities in the past two years. Under his leadership, the company overcame insolvency in 2015, and achieved a profit ratio of more than 8% in 2016. It also entered into the new markets of IT and water treatment.<\/p>\n

We are looking at expanding our Social Innovation Business in areas such as railway and non-cash payment solutions to contribute to the country\u2019s development as Vietnam sets its sights on becoming an industrialized country by 2020. I am very excited to assume this new position to help improve quality of life in Vietnam,\u201d said Mr. Sudo.<\/p>\n

With 20 years of background, Mr. Sudo is an expert in the chemical industry and independent power generation field. He also has a decade of experience in business planning and development under his belt.<\/p>\n

He began his career with Hitachi in 1985 after graduating from Hitotsubashi University\u2019s Faculty of Social Sciences.<\/p>\n

In 2005 and 2011, Mr. Sudo was stationed in Hitachi (China), Ltd. as Deputy General Manager of Business Incubation Center and General Manager of Battery System Division respectively. He also served as Senior Manager of various Divisions at Hitachi, Ltd. from 2008 to 2015. They include Group-wide Strategic Sales of Strategic Marketing and Planning Division, Business Management Division of Battery System Company, Marketing Group Global Business Development & Operation Division, China Business Development Department of the Overseas Business Division, and Sales Planning Department of the International Sales Division.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>
